ZANZIBAR ! Just the name !
Immediately the colours white and blue flashed before my eyes ! Exotic white beaches, aqua blue water, a single bobbing boat, palm trees… a fairy tale island !
That was motivation enough, but then when Mieke explained the ins and outs of her idea, and when we would journey with 7 like-minded souls (women), there was no doubt in my mind.
Being creative together will undoubtedly make this an interesting and enriching trip.
In this way I hope to contribute my little part, by explaining amigurumi (small crocheted dolls or stuffed animals) and ceramics.
AMIGURUMI
This is the Japanese art of knitting or crocheting small stuffed figures
I’ve made dozens, and even school friends (boys and girls) knew where to find me. It always provided me with a fun challenge!
For a simple amigurumi, all you need is a crochet pen, cotton, stuffing and if desired a pair of eyes.
CERAMICS
Working with clay has been one of my passions for years now. It’s a great material and the main utensil is your hands.
My work is mainly figurative, inspired by nature. Animals rank among my favourites: birds, fish, owls, meerkat, dogs…
